Upcoming Expert Panel: Overcoming Barriers to High-Quality TB Treatment During HIV Co-infection

The following two tabs change content below.

Stemming from the vision of Dr. Jim Yong Kim, Dr. Paul Farmer, and Professor Michael Porter, a partnership was formed in 2006 between physician leaders and faculty from the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard School of Public Health, the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Partners In Health to break the global health implementation bottlenecks.

While the guidelines are clear about the need to treat tuberculosis in the setting HIV infection, the reality is that many patients with HIV/TB co-infection do not receive high-quality TB treatment. The barriers to effective management of TB disease in the setting of HIV are present throughout the care cascade.

Join us next week, May 16–20, for an exciting Expert Panel to explore and disseminate strategies for overcoming barriers to high-quality TB treatment during HIV co-infection.

We encourage you to join the conversation and share your comments and questions with the MDR-TB Treatment & Prevention and HIV Treatment & Prevention communities on GHDonline!
